Acer palmatum ‘Skeeters Broom’ at Architectural Plants has a narrow, upright habit. The leaves emerge bright red maturing to a deep purple-red in summer before turning ruby red in autumn. Ultimate height and spread in 10-20 years 1.5-2.5m.

Best grown with their feet in the shade and head in the sun in well drained, moist, neutral to acid soil, protected from cold and drying winds. Prune lightly for health but never when the sap is rising in the spring. ‘By cuttings/grafted’.
