An easy, hardy shrub with dark, glossy green leaves. It is demi-deciduous, with the rounded clusters of beautifully fragrant white flowers opening in late April and May before the new leaves emerge. It can grow to 2.5m x 2.5m over 20 years.
Position: Probably best to plant this in a lightly shaded spot though it can take both full sun and full shade. Prune as needed after flowering. Grow on any well drained or moist-but-well-drained soil.
