North America
This is a huge continent so of course it has an equally huge range of habitats driven by the geography and geology. The western coast is bordered by mountains that capture vast quantities of moisture, creating rain shadows that mean that the valleys and the great plains to the east have a hotter, drier, more continental climate. The north is bounded by Alaska, Canada and the arctic, while to the south are the hot lands – a wet, subtropical climate in Florida and the southeast, but the lands of the southwest are dry and desert-like.
From the coniferous forests of the Pacific Mountain range, we are delighted to offer the iconic giant Californian redwoods. Enjoy groves of Amelanchier canadensis and forests of Betula papyrifera from Canada and the cold northern lands. The glorious Magnolia grandiflora is surely synonymous with the Old South while the hot and dry southwestern lands give us the spiky and wonderful Agaves and Dasylirions.
