Torc Pots : Max
£2,844.46 incl. VAT
Max is designed to be noticed. The pot has an urn shape to it, an elegant swelling drawing down to a sturdy base. Light and shadow gives it authority and class. We have the small size available at our nursery but fear not, this will make a great statement whether filled or as a standalone sculptural object. If you are looking to further refine the size, finish or design we can help you with this, too. Contact us to help create a truly personal finish for you.
The Max from Torc Pots is all about impact. A rounded, swelling form that reaches its widest point through the middle before drawing back in at both rim and base, it has a certain weight to it, visually and physically, that gives it real authority in a space. There is no ambiguity here, this is a pot designed to be noticed.
Available at our nursery in Rust with a heavy brushed finish, each piece carries the marks of its making. The surface feels worked rather than applied, allowing the pot to shift character as it weathers and settles into its surroundings.
The Max lends itself to planting that matches its scale. It is not a pot for indecision, it rewards clarity of intent.

What materials are used in crafting Max Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants?
Our Max Torc Pots here at Architectural Plants are made from ‘eco-crete’ and natural materials. ‘Eco-crete mixture’ means they substitute up to 15% of the cement content with silica - a bi-product of the steel and power industries. This increases the overall strength of the pot, improves sulphate resistance, decreases permeability and reduces the water requirement. They also use a percentage of glass sand which comes from recycled bottles. Each pot is crafted with environmental responsibility in mind.
Is the Max Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants suitable for outdoor use year-round?
Definitely. The Max Torc Pot is designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Is the Max Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants handmade?
Yes, every Max Torc Pot is individually handmade, each pot carefully shaped by hand with organic and contemporary forms to last a lifetime.
How do I look after my Max Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants?
Your Max Torc Pot will be easy to take care of if you heed the following advice:
Removing Packaging Immediately: It is essential that all packaging is removed from the pot as soon as you take delivery. It is possible that the pot could become stained if the packaging is left on – wet packaging encasing a pot definitely has the potential to stain.
Using Rubber Feet: Once your Max Torc pot is in place, you should use the rubber feet we have provided to place underneath it. This will elevate the pot slightly off the floor to help drainage water run away from the pot and reduce the risk of staining around the base. It is important to keep the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot free from blockage to enable your plants to flourish.
Avoiding Harsh Cleaners: Please do not apply any harsh cleaning products to the pot as this could mark or damage the finish – particularly the metallic finishes. Water and a sponge will suffice to clean off any marks that will inevitably occur from time to time being an outdoor dweller!
Care for Metallic and Verdigris Finishes: Some of the finishes we offer are metallic and/or verdigris and these need to be treated in the same manner as the other members of the Torc family of pots e.g. gentle cleaning with water and a sponge.
Saucers for Indoor Pots: If your pot is intended to live indoors, we offer a range of saucers to sit the pot on, and this can be colour and texture matched to your Torc pot.
Understanding Patina on Metallic Finishes: Please note that our metallic finishes are achieved by using metal powders. As a result, they will patina over time, and therein lies the beauty.
What makes the Max Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants unique?
The Max pot can be crafted in any colour or finish, all of which require the expert application of a range of different mixtures and techniques. Often, some very special and additional creative work is undertaken to make these unique; this means each pot takes considerably more time to perfect in contrast to many other company's factory processes. This is a key reason why Torc Pots are perfect for our collection here at Architectural Plants.
It is important to note that due to the handmade nature of each product, the textures and patinas cannot be exactly replicated- one-of-a-kind. Your pots are going to be completely unique, not like anyone else's.
