Appreciate how tough thi splant is by travelling to the mountains of Bulgaria and see it growing in its native Schipka Pass. The leaves are slender, darker above, tending to grow more densley at the the top of the plant, with a slightly open base.
An easy plant that tolerates shade, is happy on alkaline, dry or poor soils. Copes with pollution and some exposure to salt. Can be pruned heavily but be careful not to over fertilise.
