Small deciduous tree from China with large flowers in spring before the leaves appear. Purple with white central petals. Probably best known and most successful of all the oriental Magnolias. 30ft x 30ft after 30 years.
Position in full sun or ligth shade in neutral to acid soil. Easy plant. Produced by cuttings.
