In spring, the five lobed leaves emerge red with a sharply pointed, slightly flexed and elegant shape.  As the leaves develop the colour changes to a bright golden yellow, fading to green for the summer.  In autumn, the tree becomes a bright, butter yellow before the foliage falls, leaving a pretty round headed silhouette for the winter. Hardy and easy, this is a handsome tree for full or partial sun on most moist but well-drained soils.
