Calamagrostis brachytricha (Korean Feather Reed Grass)

A fully hardy, deciduous and very elegant grass from Korea.
Hardiness level Green
A fully hardy, deciduous and very elegant grass from Korea. A tall-ish one at around 1 metre high, forming dense spurts of deep, delicious green foliage with even taller pyramidal puffs of flowers through August, September and October. These are a lovely soft grey-green colour tinted with pink, and you can leave them on all winter as they turn a yummy fudgy brown and thrill all the hungry birds. These grasses are great for getting some vertical heft into a Mediterranean themed garden or prairie style design, and they partner wonderfully with contrasting, more solidly shaped plants: think rounded pillowy blobs and anything with proper edges like stiff palms and blade-like Phormiums. This Calamagrostis adds essential texture to any garden, and can be planted anywhere that’s decently drained and in full sun.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Photos represent the plants at their different stages. Your plant may arrive with new/loose roots, having been recently pruned or cut to enhance it's growth.
