Furcraea longaeva
£28.50
Screaming exotica. Gasp at the monsters in Tresco Abbey Garden. Soft leaf, rough on both sides, but Yucca-like, growing to 5ft wide and 10ft tall before sending out flower spike (yellow) up to 30ft (sic) tall. The flowers fade and are replaced by 100s of little green bulbils that become new plants. Easy.
Hardy in mild sea gardens but plant out when large (2ft x 2ft?) and they survive quite low temperatures. Well drained soil and plenty of light. If grown in a pot, give the rotos as much space as possible. Produced by bulbils.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Photos represent the plants at their different stages. Your plant may arrive with new/loose roots, having been recently pruned or cut to enhance it's growth.
