Torc Pots : Kari

From 1163.43 incl. VAT

The handcrafted Kari from Torc Pots is the epitome of gentle curves, yet has a grounded and stable presence. Kari will keep your potted plant choices protected either by echoing the curvature of perhaps an Ilex crenata ‘Convexa’ Niwaki or a stark shapely contrast of say a Taxus cone. We can help create a truly personal piece for you, if you’d like to further refine the size, finish or design do contact us.

The Kari from Torc Pots has a wide, rounded form that appears to have settled into place rather than been positioned. Its broad circular opening softens into a gently curving body, drawing the eye down to a stable, well-proportioned base. The effect is both grounded and expansive, making it particularly effective where space allows it to breathe.

Available in two Taupe colours with different finishes, each surface carries subtle variation. Textures are applied by hand, resulting in a finish that shifts with the light and develops further character over time.

With sizes reaching up to 110cm across, the Kari is well suited to framing a terrace or defining open garden spaces. It works particularly well with layered planting, perhaps an Acer or a soft underplanting of ferns or Hakonechloa, where movement contrasts with its settled form.

If you are looking to further refine the size, finish or design we can help you with this, too. Contact us to help create a truly personal piece for you.

What materials are used in crafting Kari Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants?

Our Kari Torc Pots here at Architectural Plants are made from ‘eco-crete’ and natural materials. ‘Eco-crete mixture’ means they substitute up to 15% of the cement content with silica - a bi-product of the steel and power industries. This increases the overall strength of the pot, improves sulphate resistance, decreases permeability and reduces the water requirement. They also use a percentage of glass sand which comes from recycled bottles. Each pot is crafted with environmental responsibility in mind.

Is the Kari Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants suitable for outdoor use year-round?

Definitely. The Kari Torc Pot is designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Is the Kari Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants handmade?

Yes, every Kari Torc Pot is individually handmade, each pot carefully shaped by hand with organic and contemporary forms to last a lifetime.

How do I look after my Kari Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants?

Your Kari Torc Pot will be easy to take care of if you heed the following advice:

Removing Packaging Immediately: It is essential that all packaging is removed from the pot as soon as you take delivery. It is possible that the pot could become stained if the packaging is left on – wet packaging encasing a pot definitely has the potential to stain.

Using Rubber Feet: Once your Kari Torc pot is in place, you should use the rubber feet we have provided to place underneath it. This will elevate the pot slightly off the floor to help drainage water run away from the pot and reduce the risk of staining around the base. It is important to keep the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot free from blockage to enable your plants to flourish.

Avoiding Harsh Cleaners: Please do not apply any harsh cleaning products to the pot as this could mark or damage the finish – particularly the metallic finishes. Water and a sponge will suffice to clean off any marks that will inevitably occur from time to time being an outdoor dweller!

Care for Metallic and Verdigris Finishes: Some of the finishes we offer are metallic and/or verdigris and these need to be treated in the same manner as the other members of the Torc family of pots e.g. gentle cleaning with water and a sponge.

Saucers for Indoor Pots: If your pot is intended to live indoors, we offer a range of saucers to sit the pot on, and this can be colour and texture matched to your Torc pot.

Understanding Patina on Metallic Finishes: Please note that our metallic finishes are achieved by using metal powders. As a result, they will patina over time, and therein lies the beauty.

What makes the Kari Pot from Torc Pots at Architectural Plants unique?

The Kari pot can be crafted in any colour or finish, all of which require the expert application of a range of different mixtures and techniques. Often, some very special and additional creative work is undertaken to make these unique; this means each pot takes considerably more time to perfect in contrast to many other company's factory processes. This is a key reason why Torc Pots are perfect for our collection here at Architectural Plants.

It is important to note that due to the handmade nature of each product, the textures and patinas cannot be exactly replicated- one-of-a-kind. Your pots are going to be completely unique, not like anyone else's.
