Rhaphiolepsis umbellata
From 65.00 incl. VAT
Originally from Japan, Korea and China, this is a lovely shrub with glossy green leaves. Scented flowers appear in early summer, usually these are white but can sometimes show pink tinges. The barg and woody chops are boiled to create a dye which are used for particular kimonos in Japan. It is also thought to be one of the parents of Eriobotrya coppertone.
Best planted in full sun on a moist but well drained soil. They like full sun with a sheltered southerly or westerly aspect. Produced by cuttings.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Photos represent the plants at their different stages. Your plant may arrive with new/loose roots, having been recently pruned or cut to enhance it's growth.
