Prunus accolade – Standards (Ornamental Cherry)
£595.00 incl. VAT
Discovered in the early 1950's, it is the epitome of an English flowering cherry tree! Before the leaves emerge, the dark pink buds open to mass of large pale pink blooms. In autumn, the ovate leaves take on a beautiful flaming colouration. The tree is broad headed and small enough for most gardens, reaching 7m x 6m over 20 years.
'Accolade' is hardy, deciduous and happy on fertile, moist but well drained soil in sun orpartial shade and in exposed or sheltered positions. Parentage is uncertain but likely crossed with Psargentii and P.subhirtella.
