Picea glauca ‘Albertiana Conica’ (White Spruce)

Understated and elegant, this hardy little tree found near Banff in the Canadian Rockies, has dense foliage and forms a neat and slender pyramid. Growth rate is slow, taking roughly a decade to grow a metre but could ultimately achieve 3 or 4 metres. 

Easy and slow growing, this is happy in full sun, in most moist but well-drained soils except for chalk.
