‘Hair Sedge’ describes it perfectly. Native to New Zealand, this is a beautiful, evergreen, grass-like plant of delicate, arching leaves with curled ends, perfect for adding movement to a garden.

Over 2 or 3 years, it can become a clump of wafting, silvery-green foliage that ages to white as the season progresses. The soft mop headed tussocks can grow up to 50cm. in height and across. Tiny green flower spikes are produced in early summer.
Hardy and perennial, this graceful plant grows well in pots and containers, in borders, along paths and is excellent for ground cover or massed underplanting of larger shrubs and trees.
It is best positioned in full sun or partial shade in any aspect in any fertile and moist-but-well-drained soil. Avoid winter wet. Maintenance is merely a question of tidying by combing through the clump to remove any dead foliage.
