Acer rubrum ‘October Glory’
£1,995.00 incl. VAT
A hardy deciduous female tree introduced from the eastern USA in 1961. The mature tree can be 8 to 12m tall and a goblet shape. The small red flowers appear in mid spring contrasting well with the lobed green leaves that then turn vivid and long lasting crimsons and reds, remaining on the tree until late autumn.
Best grown in a sheltered position in sun to partial shade in fertile, moist but well drained soil. Tolerant of chalk and drought once established. The colours will be better in full sun.
