Creative Maintenance & Niwaki Course Ticket: Wednesday 19th August 2026. Join our experienced team of experts at our nursery for the day and learn how to train, shape and creatively maintain a spectrum of exciting exotics, evergreen and deciduous plants the architectural way. There will also be a section on how to start training a Niwaki in the afternoon. Lunch, wine and refreshments will be served by The Secret Sussex Supper Club. Tickets are priced at £200.00 per person. There is also the opportunity to take advantage of a 10% Discount on the Niwaki you have started training, on all tools and lifestyle items purchased on the day.

We’ve been growing, training and planting for over 30 years. We have our own style and we work with mature specimens and plants which we grow ourselves from seed or cuttings. You’ll have the chance to work with a selection of these and learn our techniques for creatively maintaining them. There'll be advice on acquiring the right tools for the job and a 10% discount on all tools purchase on the day.

Course Day Outline

10:15am:

Registration and coffee.

10:30am – 11:30am:

A short introduction and a tour of the nursery to discover the different styles we grow and sell.

11:30am – 1:00pm:

Tool choice and tool care. Then, learn to train, shape and creatively maintain a spectrum of exciting exotic, evergreen and deciduous plants our way.

1:00pm – 2:00pm:

Lunch

The Secret Sussex Supper Club

2:00pm – 3:45pm:

Learn to train your own Niwaki from one of our juvenile trees. These can be purchased after the course at a reduced price.

3:45pm:

Coffee, debrief and questions.
