Hydrangea anomala subs. petiolaris (Climbing hydrangea)
£37.50 incl. VAT
A beautiful self-clinging, deciduous climber that can cover 10m x 2m over 10 years or so, on a wall, fence or stout support. The heart shaped leaves emerge in the spring followed by delicately scented, flat panicles of white lace-cap flowers and yellow autumn foliage. May take a few years to establish.
A hardy plant, best in some shade on moist but well drained fertile soil. Prune if needed late autumn or early spring, but heavy pruning is likely to result in the loss of flowers for a season or two. From Japan, Korea and eastern Siberia.
