Fritillaria imperialis ‘Aurora’ (Crown Imperial Lily 'Aurora')

A statuesque lily that can grow to 90cm tall with a cluster of vivid orange, pendant bells beneath a crown of bright leafy bracts. It is perennial, dying back after flowering before re-emerging the following spring. The wild Fritillaria imperialis flowers used to be known as the 'Tears of Mary' in old Persia.
Choose a sheltered spot in as much sun as possible. Plant the bulbs 20cm deep in very free draining soil.
