A lovely compact acer reaching maybe 1.5m in height. The leaves are deeply lobed, they emerge a brilliant red, softening through pinky colours towards green in the summer. Then in the autumn, this lovely little tree will take on classically fiery autumnal colours.

Best grown with their feet in the shade and head in the sun in well drained, moist, neutral to acid soil, protected from cold and drying winds. Prune lightly for health but never when the sap is rising in the spring. Produced by cuttings / grafting.
