Rhodochiton atrosanguineus
Rhodochiton atrosanguineus is a delicate climber and a real show stopper at that. Native to the mountainous cloud forests of Mexico and Guatemala, the flowers on this climbing plant are amazing in shape and colour. Slender twisting stems find their way up and over their supports with delicate leaves that are a pointed heart-shape. But it is the flowers that really absorb your interest. The sepals are fused together to form a five pointed crimson bell. From within hangs a richly deep-purple, tubular flower with a flared base. And lots of them. It flowers freely.
