Aspidistra elatior

Indoors or out, this is a low growing, evergreen leafy thing to 60cm that will survive in frost free shady corners. Look out for the crimson cup shaped flowers occasionally appearing at soil level. In their native Japan, these are pollinated by slugs and fungus gnats.
