Unsure About Your Order? We Can Help
From the Peruvian Andes. An evergreen exotic herbaceous perennial in mild climates but even in a cold garden, will always come back the following spring after being frosted. Its leaves are rather large (to 8″ long) and quite glaucous (bluey-green) and the flower spikes are various shades of red and can grow to 6ft or more in mid-summer.
To really justify itself, it needs vegetable garden conditions – deep rich soil with plenty of moisture. It’s worth putting the effort in as it can be disappointing on poor thin soil.
Propagated by us from seed.
