Prunus laurocerasus ‘Otto Luyken’
A low spreading and narrow leafed version of the well known Cherry Laurel. Clips well into blobs and domes. Sun or shade. Slow – 4ft tall x 6ft wide after 10 years. Please contact us for other stock availability and sizes.

Hardiness level Green
Evergreen, very dense shrub. Upright narrow, glossy, dark green leaves. Spikes of white flowers in late spring. Cherry like red fruits which turn black in autumn. Very popular with the birds. Not good on a shallow chalk soil. Happy in sun or shade. Very tolerant of shade, good under a tree.
Will get to 1m in height with a spread of 1.5m
N.B. When clipping several plants with the same tool, have a bucket containing a 5% bleach solution and swish your blades around for 30 seconds between plants to sterilise them. This will help avoid the chance of cross contamination of disease.
As with all woody plants, plant high, exposing as much of the taper at the base of the trunk as possible. Allowing soil to accumulate round the base of a tree can be fatal. Keep very well watered when first planted.
