Hardiness level Green
Lovely plant, the dark green leaves are mottled with creamy-yellow borders, perfect for screening as it both climbs and trails. Starting slowly, it can eventually cover 8m x 3m. Self clinging and hardy, the mature plants produce balls of little yellow flowers that develop into black fruits, particularly beloved of blackbirds.
A most amenable plant that grows in sun or shade, on any soil, but particularly good on alkaline soils. For really good growth mulch around the roots and water in hot spells. Prune as needed.
