Hardiness level Green
This used to be called Stipa arundinacea and is like a slightly larger version of its better known relative - Stipa tenuissima. Amy - our resident grass expert - thinks that Stipa tenuissima is for the sea side but this is more suitable for inland cottage gardens.
From New Zealand. Like most grasses - any reasonably well drained soil and plenty of light.
They are comparatively short lived grasses and will last around 3-5 years. They have a similar life span to Lavenders.
Propagated by division.
