An entertaining and educational visit to Nuthurst, the original home of Architectural Plants. The expedition is led by our founder, Angus White. Adventurers welcome.
Spend a morning trekking through the 27-year-old gardens designed by Angus and planted by Architectural Plants which sits amid a now derelict nursery. The walk takes you through the valley and past Sussex's poshest toilet. Expect to see some of the finest examples of mature specimen of architectural plants whilst hearing everything there is to know from Angus. Come armed with questions and a notebook.
A tour of our propagation facilities (including the laboratory) will be followed by a steady walk up to our stock field. Angus will show you examples of our plant range and specimen trees that we propagate from, however, we can't share too many trade secrets! We also have a few plant related experiments to show you, some more successful than others.
Once you've explored Nuthurst, you'll travel back to our nursery in Pulborough where there will be lunch and a glass of wine waiting for you in the Architectural Cafe. Sit among the plants in our cafe garden or enjoy a stroll around our lake.
The time is yours after lunch to wander around the nursery, taking in our newly planted gardens and extensive range of rare and wonderful plants. Guy Watts, our Managing Director will be available to answer any questions and provide a tour if desired.
